Winners of the 2025 TECHNOVATION OTTAWA competition hosted by Carleton University in the Junior Category for designing Plateful- an AI-powered platform that simplifies food donations, making it easier for individuals, restaurants, and stores to donate to food banks. Users can login and browse food banks in need of donations or by simply keying in the type of food they want to donate. The app suggests nearby food banks with matching needs, including the quantity, expiration date, and drop-off hours, to ensure efficient distribution. 

Sameeksha (Sam), Bapu Satish

Sam and team were the winners of the 2025 TECHNOVATION OTTAWA competition hosted by Carleton University in the Senior Category for designing Seal-U, an app designed to help high school volunteers connect with peers who share similar interests while supporting local schools. The app makes it easier for students to find volunteer opportunities, build connections, and engage meaningfully with their community. With a focus on sustainability and safety, Seal-U encourages collaboration and social connection among youth through a simple, user-friendly platform. 

Ankita Jain

Accolades galore for Ankita - Winner of the 2025 RBC 21 Under 21 Award2025 Young Entrepreneur award - Indo-Canada Chamber of Commerce2025 Canadian Federation of University Women (CFWU) Scholarship for Leadership and Service . At just 17, Ankita has already become one of Ottawa's most promising young leaders in sports, service and innovation. 

Did you know that Ankita is also a national level chess player and Founder-Kanata Chess Academy. She has introduced the game to more than 200 children, particularly girls in a male-dominated space-while raising thousands of dollars for Cancer Research, food security, and local charities. Her academy has grown into Ottawa's largest youth chess organization, with citywide tournaments featured on CTV News and inspiring a new generation of players. 

Aryan Angirus

This past summer, Aryan founded AAYAANTRA STUDIO a cultural games startup, after winning a $3,000 startup grant from Invest Ottawa's Summer Company Program. He launched his entrepreneurial journey by reimagining the classic game of Snakes and Ladders into a modernized version called Moksha Patham. As the youngest entrepreneur shortlisted in the 2025 cohort, Aryan received overwhelming support from our KSO community in promoting his startup.

Aryan also successfully completed the Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award, an internationally recognized youth achievement program that fosters development through non-formal education and learning.

Additionally, Aryan and his high school team developed and deployed Sightly, a Chrome extension designed to make the web more inclusive and accessible for users with disabilities. Their project was shortlisted and featured in the 2025 ISTE-AI Innovator Challenge, a global showcase for student innovation aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
