Srini Rangan - President

Namaskara. My Name is Srinivasa Rangan. Born and grew up in Bengaluru and moved to Ottawa 18 years ago. My Family, Mother (lives in Bengaluru), wife and two kids. I work in a High Tech here in Ottawa. Passionate about the rich Bharathiya culture that I belong to, while Karnataka is my Native land, Kannada is my pride. Previously worked with social organization like RSS since my childhood for couple decades. Very Humbled to serve this community that I call "my second family".

Deepa Rao - Vice President

Hello, As the Vice President of Kannada Sangha Ottawa, I am honored to serve a community that I have been proudly part of for over 15 years. I look forward to working with our dedicated team to continue fostering a sense of belonging and cultural pride among Kannadigas in Ottawa. My background: I am a Banking professional and enjoy participating in fitness activities such as dance, dragon boat and yoga.

Ramya Srinivasa - Secretary

I am Ramya, from Bangalore, living in Canada for 15 years. I joined the KSO in 2024 and loving it. It just feels like to be in Bangalore, around namma Kannadigas. This year, I joined the KSO committee as secretary eagerly to serve the community.
I work at GDLS as program specialist. I am a busy mom who is a designated driver for all drop off and pick ups. I like socializing, hiking, walking….

I’m Lakshmi, originally from Bengaluru, and I’m thrilled to take on the role of Treasurer for Kannada Sangha Ottawa.
It’s a joy to stay rooted in the culture and traditions I grew up with, even while being miles away from home.
I’m truly excited to work with the committee and look forward to connecting with each and every one of you. Let’s celebrate our language, heritage, and unity together!

Muralidhar Gopolakrishna - Director, Events Management

Hello, I’m serving as Events Coordinator this year. Events bring a community together and help us be connected and to belong. As events coordinator it will be my responsibility to make sure that the events we organise here at Kannada Sangha Ottawa do exactly that. I look forward to meeting you all at all our events throughout the year.

Kawshalya Uppet - Director, Cultural

Hello, I'm from Raichur, Karnataka. As the Culture Director of Kannada Sangha Ottawa, I'm thrilled to serve a community I've been a proud part of for four years. I'm looking forward to collaborating with our fantastic committee. Professionally, I work as a Clinical Statistical Programmer, and in my free time, I enjoy gardening and crafting.

Harshitha Anantha - Director, Social Media

I am from mysuru and I am excited to be the new social media director for the Kannada sangha Ottawa . My role is all about keeping our community connected , informed and inspired through our online platforms .
By professional I am working for QNX and enjoy participating in the fitness activities such as biking , running , trekking , hiking , dragon boat .

Ramachandra Achar - Advisory Board

Ramachandra Achar from Udupi. Ottawa is my home since 1993. Started my life here as a student and now serve as a Professor at the Dept. of Electronics Engineering at Carleton University. Very happy to see the Kannada community blossoming here and to be part of its vibrant journey. Nature inspires me.

Nagbhushan Hasarambin - Advisory Board

I’m honoured to serve as an advisor to this incredible team of servant leaders. My role here is to support, guide and empower the leadership team in making thoughtful, community-centered decisions—always grounded in empathy, inclusiveness, and shared growth.

My native is near Hubli and been in Ottawa close to a decade now. I am Passionate about Kannada language and culture and believe in listening deeply, learning continuously and walking alongside those who are doing the work on the ground.

You’ll often find me asking thoughtful questions, helping connect ideas and people and encouraging reflection that strengthens our collective purpose. My commitment is to help this team—and this community—lead with integrity, compassion and lasting impact.
